Mini-Grants
Return to Mini-GrantsDiane Williams and Angela Harvey-Dugan school: ANSER Charter School, Les Bois Junior High School, Boise
In April 2009, Diane Williams and Angela Harvey-Dugan, who with Kellie Hannum (09) will lead the 2011 Summer Satellite Program “Never Again is Now: Using the Holocaust to Examine Ourselves, our Communities, and our Humanity,” used funding from a mini-grant to help bring Holocaust survivor Irving Roth to Boise, Idaho. Mr. Roth spoke with students at Les Bois Junior High School and ANSER Charter School, and was the main draw at an open community night at a local high school, an event attended by 1,000 people. In addition, teachers participating in a for-credit professional development class on Holocaust education, sponsored by the Boise State Writing Project and taught by Ms. Williams and Ms. Harvey-Dugan, met with Mr. Roth in a small group setting.
