Nebraska - Satellite Seminar Program
Return To Satellite Seminar ProgramsThere is No Future Without Memory: Exploring the Holocaust and Social Justice
The purpose of our seminar is to provide opportunities for educators to acquire the tools they need to competently teach the lessons of the Holocaust to the next generation. We will illuminate the local connections between Lincoln, Nebraska and the Holocaust, anti-Semitism, and genocide and we will tackle issues that are central to Nebraskans. This exploration will take us into difficult terrain, covering issues such as immigration and racism. Using a range of resources, including films, articles, professional readings, cultural immersions, and working with community partners, we have created a five-day seminar that will instruct, inspire, and motivate teachers to return to their classrooms armed with resources and knowledge. Most importantly, participants will leave with the support of like-minded teachers who may be counted upon as advocates for social justice in their schools and communities.
